Advantages of foam facade cladding:

Everyone wants something that looks good, but is also reliable—and doesn’t cost as much as the Palace of Versailles. Expanded polystyrene is a material that offers aesthetics, durability, and a reasonable price tag.

Advantages of facade decoration:

• Lightweight. Foam plastic weighs 10 times less than plastered, stone, or concrete elements. This means it can be installed on both older, already insulated buildings and new constructions without the need for structural reinforcement. And there’s no need to worry that the facade will start cracking or collapse under its own weight a year later. Installation is easy, and the risk of something going wrong is minimal.
• Durability. Each element is coated with a reinforcing compound made of acrylic and marble chips. The result: neither rain, nor snow, nor summer heat up to 35°C will affect the facade. This coating is elastic; it does not crack, flake, or lose its shape. And if you want to refresh the color in a few years, you can simply repaint it.
• Moisture resistance. Unlike concrete or other cement-based materials, which absorb water like a sponge, foam does not get wet or rot. This means that no mold, mildew, or strange stains will appear on the facade.
• Thermal insulation. Standard concrete elements have a thermal conductivity coefficient of 1.4 W/m²K, while expanded polystyrene has a coefficient of 0.04 W/m²K. The difference is significant. In winter, heat doesn’t escape, and in summer, the house heats up less. And that translates directly to savings on utility bills.
• Withstands extreme temperatures. Summer in Ukraine means temperatures of +30°C, while winter brings high humidity, sub-freezing temperatures, snowfall, and frequent rain. Under such conditions, some materials either expand or crack. Expanded polystyrene, reinforced with the proper protective layer, retains its shape and does not crack even during sudden temperature fluctuations.
• Perfect geometry. The parts are cut on a CNC machine, resulting in sharp angles and clean edges. This cannot be achieved by manually reinforcing the parts on the facade.

Production stages

The production process for foam plastic facade trim consists of six distinct stages:

1. Design

First, a design is created. Architects produce a 3D rendering that shows what the facade will look like. You can choose a ready-made option from the catalog or order a custom design tailored to your style, dimensions, and preferences.

2. Creating patterns

If the chosen design is in the catalog, the patterns are already ready. If you want something special, custom patterns are created.

3. Cutting parts. Each component is cut on a professional plotter with millimeter precision. It is important to note that we use high-density expanded polystyrene (19–20 kg/m³)—it does not crumble or deform over time, unlike lower-density foam, which manufacturers often use to reduce the cost of an order. But this has its negative consequences. Low-density foam contains much more air, which causes it to deform depending on the temperature. And because of this, cracks appear at the joints.
4. Reinforcement. Expanded polystyrene is a lightweight material, but its surface requires protection. At this stage, each element is coated with a durable layer of acrylic mixed with marble chips. The Merolith D10f polymer mixture is used to coat the parts; unlike plaster and cement, it does not crack or crumble over time. As a result:

• the finish becomes quite firm and flexible, yet remains lightweight;
• the coating protects against rain, snow, frost, heat, and UV rays;
• the surface is ready for painting—you can choose any color.

5. Drying. After the protective coating is applied, the parts are placed on racks to dry. Three to four days at a stable temperature allow the coating to fully cure and bond with the expanded polystyrene. Once dry, the acrylic layer does not peel off or crack, even when subjected to mechanical stress.
6. Shipping and Delivery. Once the facade components are ready, they are packaged and delivered to the site. All components arrive intact and undamaged, fully ready for installation. We inspect every component before shipment, so there are no “surprises” such as chips or defects.

Installation and maintenance of facade decorations

The secret to durability lies in proper installation and high-quality materials. If these two conditions are met, the facade will look like new for at least 15 years.

Can you install exterior trim yourself? If you have basic construction skills and a basic set of tools, why not? But if you’re unsure, it’s best to leave it to the professionals.

Important points to note during installation:

• the surface must be smooth and clean—dirt and dust will reduce adhesion;
• the fastening is performed using high-quality adhesives;
• all joints are filled and sealed to give the facade a seamless appearance;
• after installation, the components can be painted—this enhances their appearance and provides additional protection;
• if the facade is decorated with large elements (cornices, columns, pilasters), they are additionally secured with dowels or anchors.

How do you maintain the facade? Foam facade decor with an acrylic coating requires no maintenance. It doesn’t need to be repainted every two years, as the coating doesn’t fade or peel. It is also moisture-resistant and is cleaned by rain (but if the facade gets very dusty, simply wipe it down with a soft brush or rinse it with water).
